Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Seminar in Belgium, 03.12.2023

Based on the invitation of Sensei Gyula Szilágyi, we traveled to Belgium from December 1–3 to hold a seminar together with Sensei Nana Shimizu.
Sensei Gyuszi has been my student since his youth. Later, he became the head of the Szigethalom club. He found employment in Belgium, eventually settled there, opened a karate club, and now teaches Goju-Ryu karate to young people in Belgium.

We were accompanied from the Pesterzsébet dojo by Anna Golob, Maja Kanizsai, Emese Támba, Sándor Magyari, and Péter Sedlacsek. The young participants were accommodated with a Belgian host family. The parents of the Belgian karate practitioners welcomed us with a lovely dinner and generously took care of feeding and hosting our young members.

On Saturday, we trained together throughout the entire day. On Sunday, we visited Waterloo together and toured the local museum. On Sunday evening, our hosts escorted us to the airport, and we flew home.

Overall, it was a very successful and memorable program. In the spring, we are planning to invite the Belgian students to visit us in Pesterzsébet.
