空手発展の決意新た　沖縄県連合会『新春の集い』

沖縄県空手道連合会（仲里稔会長）の『新春の集い』が、8日、那覇市内のロワジールホテルで開かれた。関係者120人が新年を祝い、沖縄伝統空手の継承と発展に向け、気持ちを新たにした。仲里会長は昨年12月に創立35周年記念として沖縄国立劇場おきなわで開いた国際交流演武大会や、同年10月に国際道りであった『空手の日』記念演武祭を盛り上げたことなどを報告した。また、『世界各地で紛争が起こる中、今こそ『平和の武』である空手が貢献する時だ』と、各道場が世界に持つコミニテイを通して平和を訴えるように呼びかけた。今夏に県内で沖縄空手道世界大会も開かれることから『伝統空手の普及発展をリードしていく気概で頑張ろう』と気勢を上げた。式典では仲程力さん、伊波光太郎さん、島袋善保さん、3人の特別顧問を含めた16人に創立35周年記念の感謝状を贈呈した。沖縄タイムス新聞2026年2月10日　社会27ページ。

Renewed Determination for Karate Development: Okinawa Prefectural Federation’s „New Year’s Gathering”

The Okinawa Prefectural Karate-do Federation (Chairman Minoru Nakazato) held its „New Year’s Gathering” on the 8th at the Loisir Hotel in Naha City. 120 attendees celebrated the New Year and renewed their commitment to the preservation and development of traditional Okinawan karate. Chairman Nakazato reported on the success of the International Exchange Demonstration Tournament held at the Okinawa National Theater Okinawa in December of last year to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the organization’s founding, and the „Karate Day” Commemorative Demonstration Festival held in October of the same year. He also called on each dojo to advocate for peace through their global communities, stating, „With conflicts occurring around the world, now is the time for karate, the ‘weapon of peace,’ to contribute.” With the Okinawa Karate World Championships being held in the prefecture this summer, he called for „Let’s work hard with the determination to lead the spread and development of traditional karate.” At the ceremony, 16 people, including Nakahodo Chikara, Inami Kotaro, Shimabukuro Zenpo, and three special advisors, were presented with letters of appreciation commemorating the 35th anniversary of the company’s founding.
